Cytochrome c (Cyt. c) is a key initiator of the caspases that activate cell apoptosis. The spatiotemporal evaluation contents Cyt. in cellular compartments and detection delivery between upon apoptosis important for probing viabilities. We introduce an optical probe electrochemical quantitative assessment at single level. or probes are functionalized with photoresponsive o-nitrobenzylphosphate ester-caged aptamer constituents. These uncaged by light stimuli compartments, allowing through formation c/aptamer complexes non-apoptotic apoptotic conditions. applied to distinguish epithelial MCF-10A breast cells malignant MCF-7 MDA-MB-231 under apoptotic/non-apoptotic
